- Yes. The app is a free download you run on your own machine, for one person or a whole team. There are no seats to buy and nothing metered — because there's no cloud of ours for your operation to run on.
- Then how does Excellent make money?
- By helping teams that want a hand. Setup, migration, custom integrations, training, and support are paid engagements. The product itself stays free and yours — we'd rather earn our keep in the room than tax your data.
- Do I pay for the AI?
- You bring your own model key — Claude, Codex, Gemini, or Grok. It's sealed on your machine and the agents bill to your account, never to us. Run it as hot or as light as you like.
- Can I use it for commercial work?
- Yes. Run your real business on it — solo or with a team. Your data lives in a local database you own and can export in an open format at any time.
- What do I need to self-host for a team?
